Seattle Cascades Welcome Robert Blake as 2023 Visual Caption Manager

The Seattle Cascades is excited to announce Robert Blake as the Seattle Cascades Visual Caption Manager.

According to Ray Severns, Director of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps: "Robert Blake brings years of experience to the Visual team working with outstanding ensembles in both the band and drum and bugle corps arenas. He really understands the importance of building culture through creating relationships and the balance needed between fun and work. I believe Robert will help establish the kind of atmosphere that is so important to a successful drum and bugle corps season, and engender a positive experience for every member. I believe Robert is an excellent addition to the team and I look forward to working with him."

Robert Blake currently lives in Boise, ID. Robert has over 13 years of marching arts teaching experience and has written drill and music arrangements for various high schools across the country. Currently, Robert is the music arranger and drill writer for Capital High School in Boise, ID.

During his teaching career, Robert has taught as a Visual Caption Head at the Trooper Drum and Bugle Corps and as a Visual Staff Member at the Madison Scouts and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps.

Robert has worked with many High School programs throughout the nation, most notably as a visual instructor for the 2013 Bands of America Grand National Champions the Woodlands High School Marching Band.

As a performer, Robert gained his Drum and Bugle Corp experience as a member of 2009 DCI Finalist Troopers and as 4-year member of the Santa Clara Vanguard. Robert attended Boise State University as a Music Education major, studying Saxophone and Tuba.

During his free time, Robert enjoys ballroom dancing, painting, and playing the guitar.
