Assistant Cook

Job Description

The Northwest Youth Music Association is searching for a certified assistant cook to assist with all aspects of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps meals program, which includes providing a high-quality experience centered on the health, wellness and betterment for members, staff, and volunteers.
This position’s primary responsibility will be for assisting with creating and executing high-quality meals for the performers, educators, and support personnel on the road. You will work closely with the Tour Director and lead cook to ensure the kitchen is running efficiently and effectively. Candidates should have great organizational skills in the kitchen, ability to manage a shifting kitchen crew, and the ability to cook for 200 plus people.
The assistant cook will report to the Tour Director. This position works collaboratively with the tour director and lead cook.

Traveling Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

Travel full-time with the Seattle Cascades during the DCI summer tour (June–August)

Provide on-site injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for performers

Familiarity with concussion protocols, heat illness prevention, overuse injury management and general medical problems

Manage emergency care situations during rehearsals and performances
-
Provide patients with referrals to physicians as necessary
-
Educate members on injury prevention strategies, hydration, nutrition, and recovery techniques
-
Collaborate with corps staff, medical professionals, and tour leadership to ensure the safety and well-being of all performers
-
Maintain detailed medical records and treatment logs
-
Monitor and manage medical supplies throughout the tour
-
Strong problem-solving and communication skills in a high pressure, dynamic environment

May require you to become preceptor certified with various schools we are accepting interns from (This counts for CEUs)
Requirements

Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training

Eligible for or currently hold a state licensure

CPR/AED & Advanced First Aid certifications
