Seattle Cascades Welcome Julie Bounds as 2023 Membership Coordinator

The Seattle Cascades is excited to announce Julie Bounds as the Seattle Cascades Membership Coordinator.

Ms. Bounds has extensive experience performing and teaching high school marching bands. She is currently the Director of Bands at Henry D. Sheldon

High School in Eugene, Oregon. Previously Ms. Bounds served as the Director of Bands at Santa Teresa HS in San Jose, California. Ms. Bounds is known for her "member centered" focus in her band programs as we all as being known as an excellent recruiter and promoter of music education opportunities.

Ms. Bounds is a proud alumnus of Willamette HS (Eugene, Oregon), the University of Oregon, and Northwestern University. During Ms. Bounds tenure at the UO she was the drum major for the Oregon Marching Band. She has served as the Western Band Association (WBA) President and is currently serving as the NWAPA President. In addition to teaching and developing programs Ms. Bounds is a member of the Oregon Ambassadors of Music Tour Staff, Co-Advocacy Chair for the Oregon Music Educators Association, and performs regularly on percussion with the Eugene Symphonic Band and Eugene Brass Quintet.

According to Ray Severns, Corps Director: "Julie Bounds is an inspirational teacher and incredible motivator of young people. In addition to being an outstanding music educator and band director, she holds many leadership positions with Music Education and Band associations throughout the Northwest that bring a voice of authority and optimism that I feel is unmatched. I am very excited to have Julie on the team!"

Founded in 1966, The Seattle Cascades is the Northwest’s last remaining world class drum corps. The Seattle Cascades has helped shaped the lives of more than 5000 young people since 1966, the Seattle Cascades are the Pacific Northwest’s oldest youth organization in the pageantry arts, representing our region throughout the country for more than 50 years. Each season the Seattle Cascades provide youth with exceptional educational and life-enhancing experiences in the performing arts.
