Meet the 2024 Cascades Guard Staff

As the drum corps community eagerly anticipates the 2024 season, all eyes are on the vibrant colors, intricate choreography, and emotional performances that make up the guard section.


Leading the 2024 Color Guard is a group of individuals whose expertise and passion promise to elevate the Seattle Cascades' guard to new heights. Let's delve into the exciting tapestry of the 2024 Guard Staff.


Anthony Riederer, Color Guard Caption Supervisor


Anthony Riederer has served as a technician, choreographer, consultant, designer, and caption head for scholastic and independent organizations in the Midwest, Intermountain West, and Pacific Northwest.


He co-founded Cascadia Winter Guard and currently serves as the Guard Designer at Century High School (Oregon). Anthony also serves as an adjudicator for a number of marching band contests and winter guard circuits nationwide. Previously, he was the Judge Coordinator and an appointed member of the Board of Directors for the Heartland Winter Arts Association.


Anthony holds a Master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Urban Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation and Community Planning. Currently, he manages the Community Development Code for the City of Hillsboro, Oregon. In this role he seeks to support predictable development outcomes which drive forward Hillsboro's values of being a proactive, well-designed, sustainable, and business-friendly community. Though a Wisconsinite at heart, he is grateful to live in among beauty and splendor of the Portland-area.


Brooke Winsor, Color Guard Co-Caption Head


Brooke Winsor has been involved in the marching arts for over 12 years. She has been a DCI Finalist with the Crossmen and WGI finalist with The Pride of Missouri State. Brooke has taught at various programs in the Midwest over the last 7 years and currently teaches in the Omaha, NE area where she serves as the winter guard director at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.


After receiving her degree in graphic design and illustration from Missouri State University, Brooke currently works as a Graphic Artist for G2 Performance.


Grace Batchelor, Color Guard Co-Caption Head


Grace Batchelor is from Albuquerque, NM and currently resides in Phoenix, AZ. Spending over 10 years in the marching arts activity, Grace began her drum corps career in 2015 with Seattle Cascades going on to march The Academy in 2016, Crossmen in 2017, finishing her drum corps career with The Blue Knights starting in 2018, serving as Color Guard captain there in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Grace also marched a season of WGI with FeniX Independent World in 2018.


Her teaching experience includes serving across sixteen different high school productions as a weapon technician, choreographer, and design consultant. Grace spent her first season teaching drum corps with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps in 2022. After learning what it meant to be a part of Seattle Cascades in her rookie year of drum corps. Grace is thrilled to return and continue the organization's growth.


Jacob Javier, Color Guard Choreographer


Originally from Los Angeles California, Jacob has been involved in the marching arts activity since 2008. Starting out his performing career as a Clarinet musician, his love for color guard quickly evolved and resulted in performing with 3 Independent Open DCI/WGI organizations before graduating HS. Since then Jacob has had the opportunity to perform with multiple World Class organizations including Diamanté Winter Guard, Bluecoats Indoor, Carolina Crown, Paramount Winter Guard, and the Pride of Cincinnati. Jacob then and now continues to share his passion with the activity through teaching. He’s had the privilege of working with numerous DCI and WGI organizations as a technician, choreographer, designer, and color guard consultant. Some of these groups include Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, Mill Creek HS, Choctaw HS, The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, Tarpon Springs HS, and the Phantom Regiment. Jacob is currently going on his 7th year as Color Guard Director of the LD Bell Band program from Hurst, TX. He proudly continues to explore his passion and creativity there and with the winter guard program at LD Bell, which he originated. In his free time, Jacob enjoys commuting to Los Angeles to visit family, running, hot yoga, and spending time with his fiancé and three dogs in Florida.


Zach Dye, Color Guard Choreographer


Zach is native to Greenfield, Indiana where he began his color guard career in 2009. After high school, Zach continued his performing career with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps 2010-2013 and Zydeco World Winter Guard 2012-2013. After recovering from a knee injury in 2014, Zach was able to join Carolina Crown in performing an abbreviated production of their 2014 program in Japan.


Zach has taught various educational camps as well as high school, college, and independent color guards across the country including Center Grove High School, Juxtaposition Winter Guard, Legacy Performing Arts, Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, Interplay Winter Guard, Purdue University Winter Guard, and a variety of others. He is excited to take on a new adventure with Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps.


Paige Haskins, Color Guard Choreographer/Instructor


Paige Haskins is from Omaha, NE and has a variety of experience performing with groups from across the Midwest into Texas. Her experience includes Railmen Winds (2017), Railmen Winter Guard (2018-2019), Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (2016-2021), and she has served as a captain of Mirage Winter Guard since its inception. She has had the opportunity of instructing several high schools in Nebraska and Texas, as well as WGI Virtual Finalist, Dolce Independent.


In her free time, Paige loves to thrift and crochet with her cat, Sibella.


Tori Farias
