Seattle Cascades #givingtuesday
Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We are raising money for Seattle Cascades Drum Corps and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps.
This year for #givingtuesday we would like to raise money to update our aging brass instruments and provide updates for our front ensemble. Your donation will go into our Capital campaign to get quality new instruments in our amazing members hands.
The Cascades is a nonprofit national-touring drum and bugle corps which is based in Seattle. While the majority of our members come from high schools and colleges in the Pacific Northwest, over 22 states, Canada and Japan were represented in our organization last year. We are currently in our recruiting phase for the 2020 season. Our first three-day camp will be held in December and the camps will continue monthly through May. We then begin spring training in June for three weeks, perfecting an 11-minute specially written and choreographed show that will be performed in competition throughout the United States. The season culminates at the Drum Corps International World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN in August.
We travel the country with two tractor trailers, our fully-equipped kitchen which provides four meals every day for over 200 people, as well as our equipment trailer containing instruments, uniforms, props and other equipment. In all, our entourage of seven-plus vehicles travel over 10,000 miles to 22 cities where we perform before thousands of enthusiastic fans. As you can imagine, this is a costly venture. We are supported by member tuition, donations and sponsorships. We invite you to be a part of this magnificent educational and musical adventure. Since our inception in 1957, we have educated more than 5,000 young people who have become outstanding members of our communities.
Thank you for your support.
