Seattle Cascades Announce 2020 Design Team

Seattle, WA - Seattle Cascades are proud to announce our 2020 Design Team. We welcome three new team members to the Seattle Cacades family, and couldn't be happier to see Micah Brusse return for his fourth season with the organization! With such an awesome lineup of talent, we can't wait to see what the 2020 season holds in store!


Chuck Naffier will join the Seattle Cascades as Brass Designer and Caption Supervisor for the 2020 season. Chuck was most recently the Brass Caption Manager of the Madison Scouts in 2019. Chuck has been involved in the marching arts activity for close to 40 years as a performer, instructor, arranger, composer, and program coordinator. He holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Music Education at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.


Veteran Percussion Designer and Caption Supervisor Micah Brusse returns for his fourth season with the Seattle Cascades. Micah is also the Director of Marching Percussion for the University of Oregon Marching Band, a position he has held since 1998. His percussion sections have performed as a part of the OMB in two National Championship Games (BCS & CFP), three Rose Bowls, two Fiesta Bowls, three Holiday Bowls, two Sun Bowls, the Alamo Bowl, the Las Vegas Bowl, the Seattle Bowl, and the Aloha Classic making countless television and media appearances.


We welcome Brian Greenleaf to the Seattle Cascades as our 2020 Color Guard Designer/ Caption Supervisor. Mr. Greenleaf has instructed the Suncoast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, the Black Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, the Cavaliers Drum and bugle Corps, and has served as the caption head for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Greenleaf is also the founding director of Black Gold Winter Guard.


And finally, Darryl Pemberton joins us as Visual Designer. Darryl began his career performing with the World Champion Cadets of Bergen County. After aging out of the corps, Pemberton served as a Visual Technician for the Cadets in 1996 and 1997 before taking over as the Visual Caption Head in 1998, a role he held through 2001. As Caption Head in 1998, Pemberton led the corps to another championship title and a perfect score in marching technique. Darryl was also previously Visual Designer for The Boston Crusaders.
