member assistance program

Many students work incredibly hard to keep up their scholastic responsibilities and hold part-time jobs. The reality is that some members just can't keep up with the expenses of following their drum corps dream.
Here, you can directly assist current members with their tuition and fees and help bring their dreams to life.

Colorguard (2009, 2010)

Colorguard means everything to me. I have put my body, heart, and soul into it. I have worked really hard, and I love feeling like I am getting better every day. I find every day that I can achieve something more than the last. It makes me want to see how far I can get and how much of a difference I can make in the world.

My Mom has back problems and can’t work, while my Dad works full time trying to put food on the table. So budgets are tight. I work on fundraisers to fund money for this amazing program, I have washed windows, I have mowed lawns, but still I need your help. If you would be willing to donate to me, my part at participating in this outstanding program would be much easier. Anything at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Henry R. Lowery

Bass Drum (2009, 2010)

Hi, my name is Henry Lowery. I am in need of financial support because I am a foster child. All the money I have goes directly to the corps for tuition, camps, shoes, etc, and it is simply not enough. I am completely obsessed with this marching activity, so much in fact, that I would probably die without it. The Cascades have given me hope that life can be amazing even with life's tragedies. The Cascades are my family.

I'm extremely excited for this upcoming season for the Cascades. I'm more than ecstatic to march this incredible show that has been made for us. I'm super stoked to enjoy another amazing tour with shows from the best. Finally, I'm more than prepared to receive the professional instruction from the staff.

This is going to be a great year.

Trumpet (First Year)

I need financial help to pay my tuition and other expenses because my family has huge medical bills every month, for prescriptions, and medical supplies. There are 5 members in my family, and all of us are on multiple prescriptions, for multiple medical conditions. Sponsors make it possible for me to be in the Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps.

I am really pumped about being in the Cascades. I go to a very small school (350 students in my high school). Our high school band has only 18 members. Our marching band includes 7th-12th grades, with 49 members. I am looking forward to marching in the Cascades because they are an elite group of dedicated musicians, and a huge group, with a big sound! I have never been out of the Northwest, so I am really excited to travel around the United States, performing in so many different places. This experience will give me memories to last a lifetime.

Thanks,

Scott Russell Craig

Joshua Harowicz

Contra (First Year)

I am seeking financial assistance because in my household we have six people living on a one person income. My father, the working man, is also trying to retire soon. On top of that we have four people in my house who almost constantly have medical bills to pay which tend to add up. We are also still paying off medical bills from before my mom passed away from cancer three years ago. It is really hard for me when I need some money because my family just doesn't have it. If you could help me out, it would be much appreciated!

I am really excited to become a member of the Cascades this year. Music is a huge part of my life and I was worried about what would happen after high school. Now I know that I can continue one of the best things in music, drum and bugle corps. It may be a whole lot tougher, but, I'm extremely pumped to get through it and hold my head high knowing I made it.

Thanks,

Joshua

AJ Salazar

Trumpet (First Year)

I am in need financial help because my Mom is trying to pay for my tuition alone and she just cant afford it. I have tried to get sponsors and have gotten a few, but, I am still well short of having my tuition paid. I have done all I possibly can think of to try and get the tuition paid and this is my last option.

I am very excited to march with the Cascades this year because I am always looking for the next big music challenge in my life. Last year, I saw the Cascades perform at the show in Ontario and I just knew that I was going to be a part of the drum corps, world-class style. I hope to march with the Cascades until I age out.

Thank you for your help,

AJ Salazar
